[ not the return of the hot dog pockets why do multiple people do this
anyway, while till's universe is certainly a dystopian hellscape, he is a normal boy. entirely because he was raised—however briefly—with warmth and love. he watches everything and looks a little shaken after, but runs a hand through his hair, pulling on it to collect himself. ]
Oh—uh. It's okay. That's just how most humans are produced these days. I barely even remember what my provider looked like, so... [ since del and bas are such a clear example of a family unit. ]
[ fidelio is always dwelling on mistakes he feels he made and ways in which he fell short, ways he ended up holding basilio back from reaching his potential in his attempts to protect him. this felt like sort of a reminder that the fact that basilio grew up to be such a warm and cheerful person in spite of his environment means he actually did do some things right. and so it means a lot to him if till could look at these two relationships and feel some parallels himself. ]
Could kind of see a few similarities there, yeah.
[ he gives him a soft smile and reaches over to pat his back, sharing warm feelings and familial affection. maybe this less obvious similarity to basilio is why this kid grew on him so quickly, too. ]
...So I feel pretty confident in saying she'd be proper made up if she could see what a fine young man she raised.
[ there's no way to protect someone forever, but maybe the key here is to raise someone who can love and be loved. because basilio is the sort of person who will never be alone—even knowing him as briefly as he has, till can tell that about him.
his own emotions are very soft at this, pillowy and touched and also a little abashed. ]
Now you're just embarrassing me...

[ a short moment after he lets him go, though, the mirrors switch over to playing one of his memories (3:10:38 - 3:14:25; cw: death, mild gore) instead, which might put a bit of a damper on things.
he doesn't seem especially bothered by it himself, aside from finding it pretty embarrassing. but he definitely doesn't like subjecting others to having to see it either, so he sort of winces as he looks back over, apologetic. ]
[ EMBARRASSING!!! it's not embarrassing, it's cool. imagine getting to die in a cool way, standing up for your family and ideals. till isn't really soothed by that though, because watching someone you really like die is a miserable experience.
it's made a little easier by knowing everyone here is dead, and that the "sinners" here get a second chance. but it's still a nasty way to go, and he looks a little pale on top of extremely annoyed. ]

True, yeah. Just a couple more days and you'll be able to go back together. Really start a diner—tavern.
[ he's already got his hopes up about it which is dumb but what can you do. he wants this family reunited, dammit. ]
Who were those people you were protecting, anyway...? I saw some of them with Basilio, too.
